Osmose MicroPro : A Revolutionary New Wood Preservative Technology

Micronised Copper is a revolutionary new wood preservative from leading technology supplier Osmose.

The MicroPro system utilizes patent pending micronizing technology to grind copper particles so small that they can penetrate into the wood in solid form. Wood products treated with the MicroPro preservative system are known as Micronized timber™, and offer the consumer benefits such as:

• Lighter, Consistent, Fresher “Natural” colour
• Better paint and stain ability.
• Improved corrosion protection for exterior fasteners and hardware.
• Pigmented colour options

Modern Fresh Appearance

Micronized timber has a fresher “Natural” colour compared to alternative products. This unique appearance helps differentiate the product in the marketplace. The attractive colour allows DIY enthusiasts and contractors to build with treated timber that appears lighter, fresher, and more natural in appearance.
Micronized timber will be available in popular colours such as red/brown when produced in conjunction with the new MicroShades™ colour pigment system.

Osmose water repellent additives are also available with the new micronized copper system. Osmose MicroPro Sets Environmental Benchmarks Osmose MicroPro technology is being used to create a new generation of wood preservatives across the world.

In the United States the Osmose micronized copper technology has been recognised by the international standards accreditation body Scientific Certification Systems as an “Environmentally Preferred Product”.
European versions of micronized copper preservatives will be initially manufactured in the UK using the proprietary Osmose MicroPro technology. They will be manufactured under the control systems of ISO14001, which is the recognised standard in Europe for environmental management.

Brookridge Timber adds a Micronized Preserved Timber Option

“We have had a long and fruitful relationship with Osmose, we were the first company to convert to Osmose Naturewood back in 2002, and we have been following the success of the MicroPro technology in the US market and felt that we wanted to be the first to offer this revolutionary new technology to our customer base alongside our current treatment options.” Said Neil Lush, Sales and Marketing Director of Brookridge Group.
“We like to be seen as leaders in our markets and the benefits of Micronized timber are proving very popular with our customer base”.

Brookridge Timber was formed in 1981 and has established itself as the leading independent timber company servicing the South-West and the Midlands. The new treatment operation based at Bridgewater in Somerset can supply Micronized copper and Microshades Brown preservative options.

M&M Timber Guarantees Success
